Mountain of Culinary Delights

Chef Tyler Cyre at Beaver Creek's Cima Restaurant via 50 Plus Marketplace News for northern Colorado seniorsThe resort area of Beaver Creek is located approximately two hours west of Denver in Avon, Colorado. While it is best known for wintertime sports and summertime activities, the area also has a host of restaurants and trendy eateries hidden among its perfectly groomed slopes. Here are some of my favorite discoveries:

Don’t miss the smoked swordfish appetizer, the cauliflower soup and the short ribs at world renowned chef Richard Sandoval’s Cima at the Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa.

New York chef Tyler Cyre serves classic Italian fare at Toscanini. Start with white bean soup, spiced olives with almonds and chicken liver pâté served on toasted bread. Get the lasagna Bolognese for your entrée and the homemade crostata with cranberries, orange and pear topped with olive ice cream for dessert.

Each day at 3 pm, visit Cookies on the Mountain for free freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Make reservations online at Cinebistro in Vail. Order cocktails and wine as well as your meal from the menu that has everything from fish and chips to steaks, all prepared from scratch. Waiters bring the order right to your seat as you relax and enjoy the movie. Try the Umami burger.

The Osprey has 47 rooms with all the modern amenities including a fireplace and mountain views. Dinner in the Osprey Lounge has après ski ambience and 3 small plates for $30. Don’t miss the fried asparagus with balsamic reduction and lemon aioli, the grilled brie with raspberry jam and the tres leches for dessert.

The 50 minute classic anti-aging facial at Spa Anjali at the Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa incorporates antioxidants to boost collagen and stimulate cellular. It leaves skin feeling ultra clean, fresh and tight. FTC Disclosure: All services listed in this article were sponsored by the providers mentioned.
