New Accompanist Announced For The Greeley Chorale

The Greeley Chorale has a new addition, but not really, for the 50th Anniversary Season. Kati Rittner has been announced as the new accompanist for the Chorale.

“Yes, Kati is our new accompanist, but she’s been a singing member of the alto section for several years,” explained Chorale Administrator Heather Garwood, “although we’ll miss her voice, we’re very pleased to have such an accomplished musician at the keyboard.”

Ms. Katilyn Rittner graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2009 with a Bachelors of Music degree in Piano Performance. Throughout her undergraduate years at the university she was active as a collaborative pianist, performing in multiple recitals. In her spare time as a student at UNC, she sang in several operas and studied cello and voice privately. She also plays harpsichord and organ, and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Collaborative Piano at UNC while continuing to work as a freelance artist in the Northern Colorado area.

Some of the highlights of her career include a tour of the British Isles with the Longmont Chorale as their accompanist, two tours of Germany with the UNC opera department, coaching / accompanying at Interlochen Arts Camp, accompanying the UNC Women’s Glee Club, and performing in numerous recitals with instrumentalists and vocalists.

According to Chorale Artistic Director Dr. Galen Darrough, “The Greeley Chorale has been so fortunate over the years to have amazingly talented accompanists. I am very pleased that Kati will be occupying the piano bench for us, and hope she’ll be there for many years to come!”

The Greeley Chorale begins rehearsals for the 50th Anniversary Season on Wednesday, August 20. The first concert is scheduled for Friday, October 10, 7:30 p.m. at First Congregational Church in Greeley. Tickets are available through the UCCC Ticket Office, 970-356-5000, 1-800-315-ARTS, or online at www.greeleychorale.org.
