Stay Fit While Giving Back To Your Community!

The Action Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a hand-up to struggling Jefferson County residents. It provides an immediate response to basic human needs, such as food, clothing and shelter, and promotes pathways to self-sufficiency through one-on-one case management.

The Action Center receives an average of 75 tons of donated food each month, which is then distributed to neighbors in need. In order to more efficiently distribute these in-kind donations, The Action Center is in need of strong volunteers to assist with sorting, restocking, packing, lifting and moving donations. This is an excellent volunteer opportunity for those who are looking to stay fit while giving back to the community! Volunteers must be able to consistently lift 20-30 lbs and must be able to start immediately. Volunteering at The Action Center is perfect for retirees, social groups, clubs or high schoolers on summer break!

Volunteers are essential to The Action Center’s success. Every day, nearly 100 volunteers donate their time at The Action Center to assist neighbors in need in our community. The Action Center is a fun, energizing and diverse environment.

Recommend a friend or family member to sign-up as well – volunteering is always more fun with a friend!

There are numerous other volunteer opportunities available as well, from seated administrative positions to working one-on-one with clients.
