A3: Helping Seniors Adjust and Adapt to Vision Loss To Achieve Maximum Independence

Many of you know us as the American Council of the Blind & Visually Impaired of Colorado or ACBCO and we have been providing services to individual who are visually impaired or blind for many years now. After an extensive process ACBCO has launched its new brand A3 which represents the work we do to help seniors: Adapt, Adjust and Achieve.

A3 also expanded Sight for Seniors by adding new staff members to our dedicated team. Liz Robertson has joined as our Orientation & Mobility Specialist along with Bob Santilli, Lydia Buttner and Kate Williams serving as Area Resource Coordinators. All of these individuals working with Shirley Proppe the Sight for Seniors Program Director are here to serve you throughout the greater Denver Metro Area with your vision loss needs. Sight for Seniors serves seniors who are 60 years of age and older. Our Vision Link Program serves those 59 and younger. The program was designed to assist seniors with vision loss maintain and enhance their independence and quality of life and to help restore their roles in their families and communities. Privacy, dignity, personal values, and emotional needs of each senior is recognized and respected. Training, education, support groups, adaptive aids, low vision specialist exams, resources and referrals are provided at no charge to those we work with in the program. A3 is honored to be working with the Denver Area Agency on Aging, Kaiser Permanente, Tri County Health, Seniors Resource Center and other senior focused organizations to provide a comprehensive approach to serving the unique needs of each senior in our program.
