Veteran’s Stand Down Day

RSVP-volunteers

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) hosted another day to benefit homeless veterans by providing a safe environment to renew their spirits, health and sense of well-being. Veteran guests were served a hot meal, and were given access to services such as: haircuts, dental care and health care screenings, and bike repairs. In addition, veterans received assistance with VA eligibility claims and transportation. This vital and helpful endeavor was an effort with various agencies, individuals, businesses, professionals, elected officials, and law enforcement joining in to help and assist deserving veterans. The entire day was well planned. A win-win for everyone! Many volunteers were on-hand to help out. For more information about RSVP, please call (970) 351-2588 or visit http://www.unco.edu/nhs/rsvp/.
