Playing a role in senior politics is so rewarding, not only can you build valuable relationships at a time in your life when you have so much experience and wisdom to offer, but you can also gain an appreciation and respect for the wonderful people who serve us and who count on us to help them serve Colorado.

If you have always wanted to be a part of how Colorado conducts business, then join us at the Capitol! Colorado Senior Lobby’s leadership team will help you learn the ropes while the Legislature is in session for 2017.

• Introduction to Colorado Senior Lobby
• How a Bill becomes a law
• How to read a bill
• How to research an issue
• How lobbying really works (requirements, registering & protocols)
• How to testify on a bill
• How to read and understand the budget (aka, the Long Bill)
• Plus, a special segment on “A view from a Legislator”

We will have a group of Senior Lobby volunteers who meet at the Capitol every Tuesday and Thursday at 9am during the session. Our group will attend committee hearings, budget briefings, visit with and inform their local legislator and staff and be available to answer questions about how the different bills will affect seniors.
