Fort Collins Independence Day Community Celebration

The City of Fort Collins will host its annual Independence Day Community Celebration on Saturday, July 4, with a refreshed format in recognition of two historic milestones: the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 150th anniversary of Colorado.

As part of this year’s celebration, the City is planning a reimagined community experience in and around City Park that will highlight the nation’s history and bring residents together to commemorate these landmark anniversaries. While the traditional Fourth of July Parade will not take place this year, many familiar Fourth of July favorites will continue, including: FireKracker 5K, Stars & Stripes Golf Tournament, food trucks, live music, special hours at City Park Pool and fireworks over Sheldon Lake.

“This year provides a rare opportunity to reflect on 250 years of American history and 150 years of Colorado’s story,” says LeAnn Williams, Deputy Director of Community Services. “We’re creating an experience that allows families to slow down, explore and connect with people and moments that shaped our country, state and city.”

Additional details about the full schedule of activities will be announced in the coming weeks. Visit For updates regarding the Independence Day Community Celebration.
