Boulder County Urges Caution During Summer Heat!

During the summer, temperatures in the Denver metro area and surrounding counties are expected to reach 100 degrees, with
some areas on the eastern plains reaching much higher. Boulder County Public Health urges the community to take precautions
to stay safe and avoid heat-related illnesses.

Extreme heat can be dangerous for anyone, but certain groups are more at risk, including older adults, infants and children, people with chronic medical conditions, those without air conditioning, and people who work or exercise outdoors.

Air conditioning is the most effective protection against extreme heat. Fans alone are not enough to prevent heat-related illness. If your home does not have air conditioning, try to spend time in public places that do, such as shopping centers, movie theaters, or libraries, if open and accessible in your area.
