Make Your Voice Heard for Older Adults! Did you know that Jefferson County now has more residents over 65 than under? This
demographic shift makes your participation more important than ever. Whether you’re advocating for yourself as an older adult or speaking up for someone you care for, this is your opportunity to directly engage with legislators, officials, and candidates who shape policies affecting seniors in our community.
Join us for an evening of savory bites, spirited dialogue, and meaningful advocacy. This is your chance to come together with elected officials, candidates, and Jeffco neighbors to discuss the issues that matter most to older adults and their
families—one plate, one conversation at a time.
Whether you’re passionate about healthcare access, transportation, housing, or other senior-focused issues, curious to meet candidates, or simply love a great BBQ, this dies, a group that portrays period characters from different times in
history, line dancing, a banjo player and storytimes with the Douglas County Libraries. Other activities to enjoy including hayrides, self-guided Mansion tours and vendors focused on history, livestock, ranching, and agriculture. A food truck and coffee truck will be on site with food and drinks for purchase.
All parking will be off site. Free shuttle buses will begin running at 9:30 a.m. from the north parking lot at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 9203 S. University Blvd., Highlands Ranch. A limited number of parking spaces will be available at the Mansion for vehicles with a handicapped placard or license plate. Individuals using these designated spots must present their handicapped placard or license plate upon arrival gathering is all about building understanding and ensuring older
adults’ voices are heard. Location is Apex Community Center, 6842 Wadsworth Blvd in Arvada!
Highlights include: 1) Arrive by 4:30 p.m. to get a head start on connecting before dinner is served, 2) During the meal, enjoy a panel discussion and hear from Jeffco Commissioners, 3) Stick around for door prize drawings, & 4) Most importantly: Direct access to decision-makers who can champion issues affecting older adults!
