The Veterans Affairs (VA) held their annual VA Creative Arts Festival on August 18 to 20 in Cheyenne, WY and Loveland , CO/ The Awards Ceremony for the award finalists were chosen on August 20 at the VA Clinic in Loveland in oil and water paintings, drawings, carvings, pottery, beads, musicians, dancers, and actors or directors. Host Kimberly DeSantis with the judges provided the finalists awards.

There were over 100 selections in art shown at both locations. Judges and the People’s Choice chose the best artistry in all the many categories. Below are several examples of the award winners and their art. Artist and singer Navy Veteran Sherry Paschal won several awards for her drawing of Pokemon shown here and one other on her flowers arts.
Naivy veteran Franciso Quintana won a finalist award for his beautiful rendition of Blue Element. He combines many colors into different forms of creative artistry.
Shannon Teague won an award for her stunning rendition painting of Love showing the color beads on an African American. Artist.
Navy veteran Mel Grause won a finalist award for his beautiful carving of a bear and Rocky Mountain sheep.
And finally, the People’s Choice award went to Shannon Rey for her beautiful oil painting of Mystic, a black stallion horse!
Many other finalists were given awards in other categories including singers. One special song by singer Sherry Pascal gave a beautiful song about her recently deceased husband called “Nature of Love.”
These finalists will be eligible to compete in the National Finals Festival awards, which will be held in South Caolina next May. Congratulations to these and other award finalists!
