Team USA is doing much better with seven total medals on Day 4 as shown in the chart below! Host country Italy is increasing their medal count with 11 total medals, while Norway is the winner with 12 total medals as of today!
Team USA skier Mikaela Shiffrin came up short in the Olympic women’s team combined skiing event on Tuesday in her first run at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympic Games. Team USA’s Breezy Johnson had the fastest downhill time of this competition, but Shiffrin couldn’t equal the performance and their team finished in fourth place.
Austria’s team Ariane Raedler and Katharina Huber won gold and Germany’s team Kira Weidle-Winkelmann and Emma Aicher won silver. However on a positive note, Team USA’s Jackie Wiles and Paula Moltzan won the bronze medal!
More medals will be awarded to Team USA with dance skaters Chock & Bates. Even though this married couple is competing in their fourth Olympics, they will likely obtain another gold medal for their performance tomorrow! Chock and Bates haven’t lost a competition in three years, and they’ve got all kinds of trophies, including Olympic Gold in team events at the 2022 Beijing Games and these 2026 Milan Games.
Team USA won a silver medal in the curling event! They made history as the USA hasn’t done well in past curling events! Our women’s hockey team beat the Canadian rivals to move ahead to the quarter finals! And “Quad King” skater Ilia Malinin jumps ahead in the men’s skating short program as expected with a five-point lead. NBC Analyst and former Gold Medalist Olympic skater Scott Hamilton predicts Ilia will be this year’s Gold Medalist with a 30-point lead! That would be astounding!
