“Help fight childhood obesity while making positive changes in yourself too.”

Did you know that obesity rates have more than tripled among kids age 6-11?

Volunteer for CATCH Healthy Habits, an inter-generational program bringing much needed health education and empowerment to the youth in our Denver Metro communities. Become part of a team of volunteers aged 50+ who lead will classes for children which include fun, active games, the sharing of a delicious healthy snack, and nutrition lessons focused on teaching them about making good food choices.

Classes are one hour long, usually once a week for eight weeks, they serve children in grades K-5, and are ongoing throughout the spring, summer and fall. The class times and locations vary and we are always working to spread our programming deeper into the Denver Metro Area.

The program can accommodate the schedules of both working and retired volunteers. Training is provided for all new volunteers in order for them to learn the evidence-based CATCH Healthy Habits curriculum and games. Whether you are interested in direct service on site with the kids, or want to help in the fight against childhood obesity behind the scenes, you can get involved and help make things happen in your community.

Behind the scenes you can help prepare snacks, transport equipment, help keep everyone in the loop by providing office support, or help continue our evidence based work by collecting data to help evaluate the program!
