Travel Tips and Treats

A special event presented by the Fort Collins Senior Center Friends Come join the Fort Collins Senior Center Friends for an April afternoon presentation filled with tips and treats to make your travels carefree.

Thursday, April 18th, 2 pm at the Fort Collins Senior Center, this event takes place just in time to help you plan your travel for the remainder of the year. Only $5 per person and includes one drawing ticket for a grand prize valued at $300, a quality 3-piece luggage set donated to us by AAA.

The speaker leading our event is a seasoned traveler who has visited 60 countries and every US state except Alaska. She was a tour guide for older adults’ trips for 10 years. She has taken ocean and river boat cruises, walking tours, adventure travel trips, bus and van trips. This gal really knows her planes, trains, and automobiles – and she shares her travel wisdom with you.

Learn how to plan trips, choose the right trip, travel alone safely, decide what to take and what to leave at home, how to pack suitcases and backpacks efficiently, how to avoid becoming ill on your journey, and much more!

Representatives from several local travel agencies are available to talk with you and help make tailored travel plans. They offer a full range of travel opportunities, including bicycle trips, river boat and ocean cruises, bus trips, train travel, adventure travel, and much more.

Local restaurants and generous Friends members have teamed up to provide an international appetizer bar for you to sample. It will be sure to whet your appetite for travel.

Additional drawing tickets for the luggage set grand prize are only $1 each. Plus, there are door prizes that make your travel easier.

All proceeds from this event go toward replacing the existing ceiling speakers in the Prairie Sage Rooms of the Senior Center, and is part of an $8,500 fundraising project. Thank you for your support!

Fort Collins Senior Center Friends is a nonprofit 501c3 organization that supports and enhances the use and enjoyment of the Senior Center through public relations, socializing, fundraising, and advocacy. Meetings are held four times per year. Annual membership fees are $10.
