The 10th Annual Alzheimer’s Association Fundraising Luncheon sponsored by University of Colorado Health was recently held at the Drake Center, Fort Collins. Over 250 folks attended the luncheon heard updates on the battle against Alzheimer’s; an irreversible, progressive brain disease.
Speakers spoke in a very moving manner about experiences battling the disease themselves and experiences giving care to loved ones.
Gwendolyn Shelton passed away December 12, 2013 after an 8 year ordeal with Alzheimer’s. Her Celebration of Life video left very few dry eyes in the audience. Her family and caregiver team were in attendance. The Alzheimer’s Assoc. was given high praises by the family for its role in Gwen’s long and heroic fight.
