Make the Weld County Fair Part of Your Summer Plans

The 97th annual Weld County Fair is July 29th through August 2nd at Island Grove Regional Park, Greeley. There is no admission charge, no parking charge and all activities are free!

Every day fairgoers enjoy free Wagon Rides around the park, face painters who stay busy with giggling children, the Young Guns Wild West Fun Park for kids age 2 to 10, hands-on Nascar racing and laser tag courses by Action Entertainment buzzing with activity and WOW Bubbles where kids can have fun on the water and not even get wet! Did we mention all of these activities are FREE? There’s a variety of food concessions around the park for purchase and a vendor midway where you just might find something you can’t go home without!

Visit the 4-H Building and see exhibits and projects ranging from cakes to photography that the 4-H and FFA youth of Weld County have created. You can also visit the Open Class exhibits located in the meeting rooms on the west side of the Event Center. Here see everything from jams and jellies to woodworking, from quilts to ceramics and everything in between! The items are made by Weld County citizens of all ages.

While visiting the Event Center, don’t miss the southeast corner of the building for displays of crops, vegetables, fruits, and herbs all homegrown by our exhibitors. Beginning on Kick-Off Day, Wednesday, July 29th, there are livestock shows every day. Goats show on Wednesday, dairy cattle and lambs on Thursday, poultry, rabbits and beef on Friday ending the week with swine on Saturday. For the entire fair schedule visit www.weldcountyfair.com.

Centennial Village, is open Friday, July 31st through Sunday, August 2nd and is offering the Historic 1900s admission of $1 per person. There is no time limit – spend as much time as you like exploring the Village.

On the last day, Sunday, August 2nd, join in the celebration of another great fair with the fair parade, and FREE BBQ at the Pavilion, 11:30am. The BBQ is followed by the Award Ceremony for youth winners.
