Senior Day at the Capitol

By Steve Grund, Colorado Senior Lobby

It’s your House. You built it. And, on Wednesday, March 21st at 9:00am, Governor John Hickenlooper’s Senior Day Proclamation invites you to the Capitol to enjoy it. Please come and join us!

What’s on your mind? Senior Day is a terrific opportunity to share thoughts, ask questions and talk to the people you hired to answer them. We begin at 9:00 am in the Old Supreme Court Chambers in the Capitol building; and, then we cross the street for a delicious lunch and lively conversation.

For those who have not attended, this event is sponsored by the all-volunteer Colorado Senior Lobby. We are non-partisan and dedicated to a fair deal for older adults. For nearly four decades, CSL brings seniors into focus for a day. The Governor is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Legislators highlight the day with visits in both morning and afternoon to address questions and discuss your concerns.

We also share senior priorities for the 2018 Legislative Session; pending bills we support, others on which we caution. Your views are key. Your participation very welcome!

We also want to share that we are streaming the morning session. We have a group streaming site at the Fort Collins Senior Center in Fort Collins and one at the Joseph H. Edwards Active Adult Center in Pueblo. You can also watch the streamed event from a home computer. We have information on streaming posted on the website. We really do, however, encourage you come to the Capitol in person. For more information visit www.ColoradoSeniorLobby.org
