Scams of the Day

1.  Publishing Clearinghouse – “you have won xx million dollars AND a new Mercedes”.  All you have to do is go to Walmart or other places to put $500 or some other amount on the card for processing your winnings.”   SCAM!  If you won, you would not have to pay anything.  Just hang up.  NEVER GIVE YOUR MONEY!
2.  Alert – Packages have been stolen off front porches after delivery.  Those that have a security camera can provide law enforcement with the video.  If you are expecting a package and won’t be home to bring it in, ask a trusted neighbor to take it to their home for safety.
3.  On-line dating services – There are many scammers signing up on these dating services.  They start a relationship with you (online only, of course) and then ask for money.  Maybe a small amount to start, and will continue to ask for money.  Many of these scammers are not in the US.  Their pictures are of someone unknown, and have made up a profile.  If anyone you meet on these dating services asks for anything – personal  information, money, etc. REPORT IT TO THE DATING SERVICE AS A SCAM AND DELETE their profile.
Please report any scammers to law enforcement.  If you have lost money to a scammer, report to our dispatch 416-1985.  If you have not lost money please report to me (info below) so I can alert our community.
Please feel free to pass along this information to everyone!  The only way to stop these scammers is to shut them off!
Have a great day!
