Windsor Art & Heritage Center Open Exhibit Featuring Local Artists

Windsor’s Art & Heritage Center opens its newest exhibit, “Mash Up: An Artist Invitational,” on display from November 30 through March 10, 2019.

3 local artists create a unique exhibition that will stimulate the senses. These exciting sights and sounds enable visitors to think of art in a new way.

Mary-Ann Kokoska, drawing and collage

Mary-Ann Kokoska’s artwork in Mash Up is inspired by the Poudre River. Her large-scale artwork reflects the majestic beauty and importance of water in our community. Kokoska’s artwork has been exhibited around the world including New York, London, and Prauge and she is currently a professor at Colorado State University in the Department of Art and Art History.

Sharon Carlisle, sculptural installation

Sharon J. Carlisle’s sculptural installation, “Tending Primitive Emergence” is created from altered objects and is an expression of honor and gratitude towards one of our most basic human needs – water. Carlisle uses diverse materials to express concepts, concerns and observations relating to energy in all its forms and interconnections.

Chad Seelig, digital art and new media

Chad Seelig’s digital art and new media installations borrow from the genre of sci-fi, where he explores the connections between actual experience and simulated realities. Seelig’s artwork has been exhibited at the Boise Art Museum and he has worked for galleries and museums in Massachusetts, Georgia, and New York City. He is currently a professor at Colorado State University and Front Range Community College, and 2D studio manager for MSU Denver.

The Art & Heritage Center is located at 116 5th St. and is open to the public on Thursdays, 3-7 p.m. and noon to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday, free of admission.
