Community Enrichment and Engagement

Colorado is ranked one of the most desirable locations to retire and Northern Colorado has some of the most active retirees. The conundrum for those starting a new phase of their life is figuring out where this journey will take them and what resources are available.

Volunteers of America SeniorCorps/RSVP, Poudre River Library District, and AARP are sponsoring a three series program (Winter, Spring, Fall) that explores life enhancing options for the retired/almost retired population. This series is a great jumpstart for those still in the workforce.

New Directions/50 and Better host free monthly-sessions that touch on informative topics that promote active community engagement and involvement. All session will be from 1:30-3:00pm at Fort Collins Harmony Library.

Winter Series 2019
• January 14: Gearing up for Active Retirement Life Reimagined: Time to sit down, settle in and explore what you want to do in the next phase of your life.
• February 21: Good News in Aging Research. Five CSU research professors discuss current gerontology studies including stereotypes, attitudes, and protecting brain health.
• March 28: Your Future Finances. It is a different financial world out there! Looking at old and new options to make this new phase of life work financially.

Spring Series 2019 explores Meaningful Time Well Spent. Would you like to volunteer, go back to work/school, or travel?

Fall Series 2019 is Enhance Your Retirement with Community Resources. What is out there in the community that is available for me? This interactive series opens dialog to enhance an age-friendly community.
