CRAIGS LIST —
1. Scammer wants to purchase your item by mailing a certified check to you via overnight USPS – when you cash the check they will have their shipping company pick up the item when you have the cash from their check in hand. NOTE: THEIR CHECK IS PHONY. You will lose your item plus whatever extra you are supposed to pay the shipping company.
2. Here is a weird one from Susan Vance (FCPS) – Scammer wants to buy an item you have for sale on Craigs list – wants you to set up an account on Google voice — very convoluted and weird – here is the link to the blog that hopefully helps clarify this bizarre scam.

EMAIL SCAMMERS —
1. Here is one – note the language —
“Good Day ,
I am outsourcing individuals with sound Financial Management abilities to manage a vast capital for an Arab Angel Investor with embattled politicalnsituation. These funds can be invested in tranches of 100M or a tranche that is suitable for the portfolio manager.
If you have Financial Management abilities, credible projects in need of funding or existing businesses requiring expansion, we would be willing to work with you.

2. And another I received – notice it is to “meyer” – I have changed the link so it is harmless but the sender wanted me to click on the link so they could get into my personal info. Also note that it is http not https. (“s” signifies secure)

Other email scams are from banks, credit card companies wanting you to click a link or give your personal information. Please remember NEVER GIVE PERSONAL INFO OR CLICK LINKS IN EMAILS. These are scam emails. Banks and credit card companies will never ask for this information on the phone or in an email.
