I will discuss the Crisis Standards of Care, which are the guidelines for how the medical community allocates scarce resources such as ventilators and intensive care unit beds in the extreme case when patient needs exceed the resources available. Learn about the COVID-19 Crisis Standards of Care enacted by Governor Polis early April and the impact on Colorado’s older adults. Crisis Standards of Care to be discussed include: Hospitals, Palliative Care, Emergency Medical Services and Personal Protective Equipment.
