Saluting Local Veterans!

Chris DeBey: Anchors Aweigh! United States Navy Veterans surely remember this song. May even have even sung or hummed it a time of two. Perhaps, USN Veteran Chris DeBey has. Chris served in the USN from 1971 – 1975. His rank as Machinist Mate E-3 kept him busy; particularly The USS SHASTA, an ammunition ship. His tour of duty found him off the shores of Vietnam twice. He spent some time at the Naval Base in the Philippines. There was well earned RR spent in Thailand. Chris is originally from Greeley. He has resided in various Colorado communities over the years. For the last 14 years he has called Windsor home. He has three grown children – two daughters and a son.

 

Erle Macdonald: We salute Erle Macdonald U.S. Navy Veteran who served from January 1962 – May 1983. “A Lifer” as often Veterans are called who serve such a length of time. Erle’s military career saw him attain the rank of Chief Petty Officer (E-7). His duty included an assignment at the Defense Intelligence Agency at the Pentagon. He served aboard the USS Constellation, USS Ranger and The Enterprise. At one point he was stationed in Morocco, North Africa. Erle has two grown sons and four grandchildren. For the past 12 ½ years, he’s called Windsor, home.

Granville Wyatt: The United States Air Force is the branch Granville Wyatt served from 1978- 1982 and Inactive Reserve from 1982-1984. Wyatt earned the rank of Sergeant E-4 and served at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. His Flight Simulator Technician specialty involved him with the Phantom F-4E and F-16 Falcon jet aircraft which he found most interesting, challenging and rewarding. His work as an Engineering Manager for a broadcast company has come to an end as he recently retired. Now he and his wife Cathy enjoy activities and time together. They have been Colorado residents since 1989 and Windsor residents for 8 1/2 years. A daughter and her three sons live in California.
