Rebuild in the New Year!

What a time to rebuild, reconnect, renew, refresh and recharge! All hold endless opportunities as we welcome 2021. With this New Year, why not begin by showing appreciation for others. Whether for accomplishments or a show of gratitude, calls and card can be welcome, even refreshing.

Checking in with friends, or continuing that habit begun virtually, keeps reconnections going. Recharge by finding different books to read or joining a book club. If current travel plans have become derailed, finding adventure in the printed or digital pages provides an affordable armchair experience. Revive the feeling of freedom.

Rebuild in the New Year by enjoying Colorado’s trails, lakes and Front Range offerings. If hiking and walking have no appeal, landscaping or gardening may hold the rekindling key.

Reconnecting with nature can be priceless and easily found outside the front door.

Renew cultural connections through the creative and musical arts. Concerts, music festivals, operas and other musical offerings may not be available currently for in person attendance. Instead creative live streamed, and prerecorded, performances keep music alive.

Reimagine the world through drawing or painting. With the encouragement for social distancing, plein air painting combines the best of several worlds.

Resume, relearn or even “re-zoom” with games previously enjoyed. Chess, board games, cards and puzzles reset the memory while challenging the participants.

Reorganizing may have been started last year in closets, bookcases, old files and more. If unfinished, renewing that effort will have its own reward once completed. Others may be the recipients of old photographs, news clippings, letters and memorabilia of significance.

Reinvigorate creativity by writing or rewriting a poem, story or article. Creating something to give away can be rewarding for the one giving and receiving. However 2021 is rebuilt, the possibilities are endless. “Re” goes with countless actions.
