Avelo Airlines Starts New Service from Northern Colorado

In October, Avelo Airlines’ announced their first flight from Fort Collins / Loveland to Los Angeles represents the airline’s Northern Colorado debut. Avelo’s arrival at Northern Colorado Regional Airport (FNL) offers Northern Colorado a more convenient and affordable alternative to Denver International Airport (DEN). One-way very low fares starting at $39 on the twice-weekly service offers other seating and baggage options that range from $7 to $20 on their one way fares!

The new flight operates Wednesdays and Saturdays, departing FNL at 11:15 a.m., arriving Burbank (BUR) at 12:40 p.m. The return flight departs BUR at 7:10 a.m. and arrives at FNL at 10:35 a.m.

In addition, Avelo starts new service to Las Vegas on December 15. Twice-weekly flights to Las Vegas begin at $39 each way, but the low-cost airline charges separate fees for seat assignments and carry-on and checked baggage.

A three-day trip from Dec. 15-18 could cost as little as $78 with no frills attached ($39 each way), or as much as $182 with seat assignment ($7 each way at the back of the plane), one checked bag ($20 each way) and a carry-on ($25 each way).

A comparison with other airlines on Southwest’s lowest fare flight would sell for $169 flying from Denver’s International Airport. United, which provides their “wingless flights” bus service from Northern Colorado Regional Airport would cost about $290 or $221 for the round-trip flight and $70 more for round-trip for seat assignments and baggage.

The nice thing is you can park your vehicle at the Northern Colorado Regional Airport or be dropped off without any extra fees or face long lines at the security checkpoints at DIA. These benefits alone are timesavers!

Avelo Chairman and CEO Andrew Levy said “Getting to Los Angeles and Las Vegas from Northern Colorado is now easier and more affordable than ever. We’re excited to take flights today to several of the world’s most beautiful and popular vacation destinations.”

Named the 2019 “Best U.S. Airport” by Fodor’s Travel, BUR features include seamless curbside pickup and drop-off, smaller crowds, unrivaled speed for plane-to-carousel bag delivery, faster TSA security lines, and short walking distances between the terminal and ground transportation, parking, and rental cars.

“Residents within the Northern Colorado Region have expressed a solid desire for more convenient and cost-effective air travel options,” said Northern Colorado Airport Director, Jason Licon. “We are excited to welcome Avelo to Northern Colorado!”

Avelo’s everyday low fares have no change or cancellation fees. There is also no charge for customers who choose to make reservations by phone. Additionally, Avelo offers several unbundled travel-enhancing options that give customers the flexibility to pay for what they value, including priority boarding, checked bags, carry-on overhead bags, and for bringing a pet in the cabin.

Avelo operates single-class, fuel-efficient 189-seat 737-800 mainline jets, offering a spacious and comfortable experience. Customers may choose several seating options, including seats with extra leg room, as well as pre-reserved window and aisle seating.
