Celebrate with CU Presents!

From silly to sublime, sacred to sentimental, CU Presents has an eclectic lineup of holiday entertainment.

“Whether you want to laugh, sing the ‘Hallelujah’ chorus or experience a taste of an English Christmas, CU Presents
is delighted to offer our community three very distinct artistic celebrations of the season,” says Joan McLean Braun, executive director.

A Broadway Christmas Carol

Dec. 4-21, University Theatre. If Charles Dickens had huddled with Rodgers and Hammerstein and the creators of “South Park” they just might have come up with this hilarious mashup. Simultaneously irreverent and respectful, the show is a charmingly recognizable retelling of the beloved holiday ghost story, complete with new lyrics to famous Broadway show tunes.

Holiday Festival 2014

Holiday Festival

Dec. 5-7, Macky Auditorium. The Holiday Festival is a celebration of the season, featuring masterful renditions of beloved music by choirs, orchestras, soloists and faculty ensembles, sing-alongs of favorite carols and festive decor in Macky Auditorium. This annual tradition, which goes back more than 70 years, is the perfect opportunity to share the warmth and joy of the holidays with family and friends.

Christmas with The Kings Singers 2014

Christmas with The King’s Singers

Dec. 11, Macky Auditorium. Here’s a chance to enjoy an English Christmas right here in Colorado, as the world-renowned British a cappella sextet performs a program of seasonal favorites, sacred songs and more. With their unique melodic arrangements, impeccable vocal blend, and playfulness, the ensemble brings both wit and warmth to the stage.

“From the sublime to the down-to-earth, from the sacred to the sentimental, The King’s Singers encompass an extraordinarily wide musical range.” — Seattle Times
