Mom, Professor, Candy Maker…

And, author too! This all describes Deena Koessl a Mom to three children Karrick, Kenzie and Karlee. She, her husband Karrick and family have been Windsor residents since 2000 coming from Fort Collins’ western slope. Deena is nearly a Colorado native. When 3 years old, she and her folks moved to Colorado from Athens, Georgia.

Deena earned a Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from University of Colorado/ Denver. Her PhD in Education & Leadership was an achievement at CSU. She taught in public schools for six years while working on her PhD.

The past seven years have been at UNC School of Reading Education teaching instructional reading classes to future teachers. Her learning and teaching passion lend themselves well to her chosen profession in education.

So, where does the candy maker come in? Her Dad’s delicious, actually scruptious, toffee recipe and a real family favorite over the years gave birth to Deena’s family business “Alpine Toffee.” Her toffee has proven to be a great gift; especially during the Christmas and Holiday Seasons.

Deena KoesslDeena’s inquisitive, insightful and creative talents led her to assume the role of author. “The Prosperity Promise,”
Four Steps To A Better Life, was revealed to her while cleaning her home. Within fifteen minutes she had her book title and the four steps. Then the journey of writing began. Oh, Deena was quick to say, “I do not like house cleaning.”

Deena quotes Henry Ford “If you think you can or you think you can’t you’re right.” She speaks about “The Law of Attraction,” which means you attract whatever you feel and think. Many publications describe the law and applying the principle. Her new book takes the law’s application a major step forward by describing distinct steps and real life examples that demonstrate how to apply this principal day-to-day. She writes from a personal perspective and personal experiences about the principle actually working in her own life and cites believable examples. Her book not only addresses achieving material possessions but health, employment; most anything! The four steps and patience are the key.

Deena and her family have fun traveling to Estes Park, movies and sporting events. She likes reading and working out. Real enjoyment comes from the family being together at home.
