Larimer County Hosts Annual Caregiver Toast

In October, Larimer County Office on Aging honored family caregivers who graduated from the Powerful Tools for Caregivers classes in 2016. Fifty-five students and speakers attended the annual Toast to Caregivers at the Lodge at MacKenzie Place in Fort Collins.

Alan Heileman, MacKenzie Sales Manager and a class facilitator gave the introduction followed by Alan Arnette, professional mountaineer, who talked about his climbing adventures and caregiving of his family; Suzanna Hetchler with Mountainview Presbyterian Church in Loveland introduced the class facilitators, Dr. Christine Fruhauf with CSU Human Development discussed the growth of the Powerful Tools classes, and Lynette McGowan with the Office on Aging interviewed several caregivers students who gave their experiences.
