The Retired Senior Volunteer Program hosted its Annual Volunteer Breakfast recognizing volunteers who amassed 84,055 hours of volunteer time helping and assisting members of Weld County communities. RSVP Director Marcia Shafer served as MC of the event’s program held at UNC. UNC students were set up the program and served the tasty breakfast.

Mary Louise Batman was recognized for her 30 years of volunteer service. And recognized for 25 years of volunteer service was Sue Charboneau. Sue Hubert, Sue Ann Unrein, Leroy (Lee) Athmann, Lenore Penforl, Velma (Nan) Walrath and Joyce Wells all were recipients of Presidential Awards honoring their 4,000+ hours of volunteer service.

NCMC, Inc., Home Instead Senior Care, 50 Plus Marketplace News, Area Agency on Aging, Seniors Helping Seniors, Dawn Mathis-Real Estate, Home Watch Home Care, First Light Home Care, Touchstone Home Health together sponsored the breakfast and made it possible.

Lovely flowers were provided by Morgan Flowers. Various agencies donated door prizes. Eye-catching table centerpieces were designed and provided by Jean Moats. Entertainment by UNC student Lorenzo Fagini playing Guitar.

Director Marcia Shafer closed the gathering by congratulating all the award recipients. She thanked all those who contributed time and energy to the event; as well asking for a big round of applause for the UNC staff and students. And, added a Big Thanks to everyone who attended.
