The Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado will host A Salute to Our Persian Gulf War Veterans May 25-27, 2019, with a series of events during Memorial Day weekend.

The weekend will kick off with the All Veterans Gala on Saturday, May 25, 2019, from 5:30 – 10 p.m. at the Fort Collins Marriott Hotel, located at 350 East Horsetooth Road, in Fort Collins. All veterans and community members are encouraged to attend.
The event features dinner and a keynote presentation by retired Lieutenant General William Welser III, USAF. He was the U.S. Department of Defense’s chief mobility architect for the air and ground war during operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom and played several other significant roles.
The program will also include a coin presentation to veterans who served between 1990 and 2003, a short auction, and an award. Music and dancing will follow.

The official Memorial Day Ceremony will be held from 12-1 p.m. at the Veterans Plaza, located at Spring Canyon Community Park, 2626 West Horsetooth Road, in Fort Collins. The 101st Army Rock Band will play immediately following the ceremony. Visitors can stop by veterans organizations booths which will be set up by 10 a.m.

Memorial Day is a day of solitude at the Veterans Plaza. However, the Colorado 10K Run will be raising funds for the Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado. Register at: www.coloradorun.com
