What’s New at the Denver Zoo?

From Smiling Stingrays and Playful Penguins to All-New Animal Encounters, Spring has sprung at the Denver Zoo. The sun is out, the masks are off, and the season’s first flowers are beginning to show their faces—it’s a wonderful time to visit Denver Zoo! The days are getting longer and so are our hours! Our Summer hours are in effect, with the Zoo opening at 8:30 a.m. for members, and General Admission starting at 10:00 a.m. Zoo closing hours vary by day, so be sure to check our ticketing system for available times. The Zoo will close 1 hour and 45 minutes after the last ticket reservation entry time. Timed ticket reservations are required for entry.

Denver Zoo Penguins

Stingray Cove is a seasonal, open-air interactive experience that allows you to get up-close and personal with four beautiful species of sea life. View cownose and southern stingrays as they swoop and glide freely share with peaceful bamboo and bonnethead sharks.

The endangered African penguin hails exclusively from the warm waters of coastal Southern Africa. That’s exactly why this is the inspiration for our new penguin habitat: Pinnacol African Penguin Point!

We’re thrilled to announce that animal demonstrations with at least eight demos every day, from larger-than-life elephant experiences to scintillating sea lion sessions.

Want to make your next visit totally unforgettable? Tropical Discovery is home to more than 2,000 furry, scaly, swimmy, slithery and slimy animals. This is an unforgettable opportunity for fish fans or lizard lovers to learn how our keepers care for the coolest creatures in the Denver Zoo!
