Spend a Day at the County Fair

Boulder-County-Fair-2016

Why not come to the Boulder County Fair Tuesday August 2nd? As one of the less travelled days, you have plenty of room to view the livestock exhibits and the general projects. We suggest arriving around 10 am; unless you are an early bird and watch 4-H youth weigh-in their animals from 6 -8 am. The Barn A show ring has the dairy goat show at 10 am. This is a big hit with kids and fun to watch. From there you can meander over to the Jack Murphy Arena and watch the Colorado Draft Horse Classic Shire Show. When you feel your tummy rumbling, walk the midway and enjoy the diverse food vendors, landing your way back to the air conditioned seating area in the exhibit building.

The afternoon entertainment kicks off at 1:00 pm with the All Star Stunt Dog Challenge outside in the Fair Garden. This half hour show is sure to excite all our canine friends. The Boulder County Beekeepers give their presentation at 1:30 pm. The Dulcimer band entertains in the exhibit building at 2:00 pm while you enjoy ice cream from the 4-H Dairy Bar. From 10 am till 4 pm there are guided tours of the creative living and 4-H project areas of the Exhibit Building.

Once outside, the Aurora Organic Dairy Kid’s Corral has an FFA petting zoo and an agricultural education area. If you are planning to stay at the Fair for the afternoon and evening, the Ballet on Horseback performances are at 4:00 and 7:30 pm in the Indoor Arena with Hazel Miller and Peaches Embry onstage in the Fair Garden. See you at the 147th Boulder County Fair for “Country Fun For Everyone”.
